A YES vote would add the right to hunt and fish to the Florida State Constitution, aligning Florida with about two dozen other states that already protect these activities. This constitutional amendment would make it more difficult for legislators to pass laws banning or restricting hunting and fishing without changing the authority granted to the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission under Section 9 of Article IV.
Additionally, it would promote hunting and fishing as key methods for managing wildlife populations, saving the state millions in revenue and protecting the environment from other methods that could use substances such as poisons to control wildlife populations.

Declaration of Rights
SECTION 28. Fishing, hunting, and the taking of fish and wildlife.—Fishing, hunting, and the taking of fish and wildlife, including by the use of traditional methods, shall be preserved forever as a public right and preferred means of responsibly managing and controlling fish and wildlife. This section does not limit the authority granted to the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission under Section 9 of Article IV.
